CARING FOR RABBITS
'The Five Freedoms' :
I keep my bunnies in accordance with the following:
1. Freedom from Hunger & Thirst -
by providing fresh water and the right amount of food to keep them fit.
2. Freedom from Discomfort -
by making sure that rabbits have the right kind of environment including shelter and somewhere comfortable to rest.
3. Freedom from Pain, Injury & Disease -
by preventing them from getting ill and making sure sick animals are diagnosed and treated rapidly.
4. Freedom to Behave Normally -
by making sure rabbits have enough space and proper facilities.
5. Freedom from Fear & Distress -
by making sure their conditions and treatment avoid mental suffering.
My Setup . . . . .
In total I have 21 hutches, although one of those is my son Lucas for his bunny Magnus.
I have got two blocks each with six 3ft hutches in. These hutches can have the centre partition removed on each level to make one big hutch rather than two smaller ones. These hutches are used to house my bucks and youngsters.
I also have seven 4ft single hutches and a triple 5ft hutch block. I use these for my does and as as 'nursery hutches' when kits are weaning.
All of my rabbits have daily exercise in a run in the garden, even if its just for 5 mins in bad weather.

Care Sheets:
With each of my bunnies sold, I also provide a care and advice sheet. This ensures that the new owners are made aware of the correct care they are expected to give their new pet.
Obviously, this is for guidance only and I do not offer veterinary advice. Anyone with concerns about their pet should visit a Vet at the earliest opportunity.
I offer two Care Sheets; one is general advice on caring for a rabbit, the other is specific to the bunnies I sell/rehome, to give advice on how to settle in your new bunny.
You can download these documents for your own use if you wish, just click 'Download File'.
